First FO of the new year

Specs:
Needles: US 7
Yarn: 1 skein Lily Sugar N' Cream Rose Pink

The pattern called for US size 6 needles but I don't have that in bamboo. I used 7's. Metal kills my wrists when knitting in cotton. The dishcloth came out quite large but I still like it. This was knitted for an upcoming dishcloth swap.

Drops Cable Bag

Specs:
Needle: Size 8 16inch circs and size H crochet hook
Yarn: Bernat Softee Chunky in Faded Denim 2 skeins

Seed stitch the button band for about six rounds. Crochet the straps with size H hook because I was sick of knitting by this point. :) I just need to find some pretty fabric for the lining.

HP Fair Isle Pouch

Specs:
Needles: Size 8 29" circs
Yarn: Lion Brand's Vanna White in Navy & Linen

First time working fair isle and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. My tension was tight so the bag came out a bit lumpy. :/ Other than that, it was an easy knit and I most like will make another bag with a different yarn.

WIP: Harry Potter Fair Isle Pouch

This has probably got to be the easiest fair isle pattern I've ever came across. It's not too much and it's only two colors. A perfect beginner's pattern. And it's Harry Potter, a definite plus. I'm loving it. I'm doing it it Ravenclaw colors, of course. The pattern can be found at Rosemary Waits.

Finished objects: Ballband Dishcloth & Wicked

So, I finally have some more FO's to post. First is Mason-Dixon's Ballband Dishcloth. I was a very easy knit and I plan to make a few more of these for gifts.

Ballband Dishcloth

Specs:
One ball each of Lily's Sugar & Cream in Midnight Magic & Hot Purple on size 7 needles.

Next is Zephyr Style's Wicked. I took such bad notes on this pullover, I'm surprised I was able to finish it. I started it in February but I put it off because the weather in Miami was way too hot to work on a sweater.

Wicked

Specs:
6 skeins of Lion Brand's Wool-ease in Chocolate.
Size 44"-47"
Size 8 29" circs for body
Size 8 16" circs for sleeves
Size K crochet hook for binding off.
Mods: I made the short sleeved version of Wicked instead of the long sleeved version. I used one circ for the sleeves instead of dpn's. I also added increases for my hips. Next time I'll add the increases immediately after the decreases then knit a few rows. I probably do the crossover rib instead of seed stitch to match.

This was my first sweater and the pattern was very easy to follow. It won't be my last.

Shopping

I did a bit of shopping yesterday. I only had to go to Michael's and Border's but Mom wanted to buy something from Ross. I had no intentions of buying anything but then I saw Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers' tote. I couldn't leave that behind. I searched in the chaos that was the wallet section and I found one little HL wallet. The tote and wallet were regularly priced at $78 and $30 but they were $35 and $12 at Ross. What a steal, right? I brought Jenny Hart's Stitch-It Kit from Border's because I want to get back to embroidery again. I never went to Michael's. I was getting cranky and snippy. There's always the weekend.

Ravelry and other things

I haven't been able to post any recent photos of my projects because my batteries died. But I finally did it and you can check those out on my Flickr.

I'm finally on Ravelry. I got my invite the day before my birthday so that was a nice surprise. I swear, that place so addicting. So many patterns, different takes on patterns and groups....I can stay on there all day. I'm rockcandy if anyone wants to friend me (I need more friends).

One of the first patterns I completed since being on Ravelry is this Saturday Market Bag. The pattern can be found at Magknits and the mods can be found at Disdressed. I've been looking for a nice bag to make since I'm trying to get out the habit of using plastic when I shop. This pattern was perfect. The only problem I had making this particular bag was that I made the handles to small and I hated the acrylic yarn. I'll use cotton next time.

Saturday Market Bag

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Light Blue (I skein)
Needles: Size 15 for the body and size 10 for the handles

I'm almost finished with the Ballband Dishcloth and who knows what I'll do next. Probably finish Wicked.

I actually finished her some time ago but I only got around to completing her last week. This was my first and she definitely won't be my because my mother asked me ever so nicely to make one for her office. :

She was made with some cheap (and I do mean cheap) acrylic yarn and I used beans for the lower half of her body and her hands and feet.

Candy

I made this dishcloth as well. You really can't see the stitch detail but called fake cables. It's a little something I made up based on stitches from a stitch dictionary.
